Gary and Lola's Vacation West travel blog

After retreiving the camera battery from bob and Irma Wilsons, Plus a Great spagetti dinner and soft bed, we left Everett WA. on Wednesday morning and headed across US 12 toward Idaho and Montana. Landed In Lewiston, ID. last night and stayed at the Cedars Motel, Hard bed, terrible pillows and thin sheets, but a place to stay after driving 450 miles and stopping to taste everything (wine) and photograph the western US.

Unfortunately photos are very difficult to load and time consuming on this web site so I will send a few now and lots morw by email later.

Up this morning and breakfast at McD as usual and off to the East following US 12. This route has to be one of the most beautiful routes in the US across the Cascade and Bitterroot Mts. Following the Columbia, Snake, Clearwater, rivers. The Lewis and Clark trail.

Running out of room in the car as we are filling it with Wine, rocks (from Mt. St. Helen)

and our growing bodies from all of the good eats.

Staying at a Wingate tonight in Helena, Mont. In the middle of the mountains. Great room for a change and another great dinner.

Will try to get to North dakota or even South dakota tomorrow, but Montana is a WIDE state and traveling along US 12 is slower. Hope to be in Aberdeen SD some time Saturday afternoon. Two days home once we leave there. Maby get home by the 10th.

camera battery needs charging, will load photos later, I used the camera a lot today.
