We started the day with breakfast in Placerville, with Jim and his son Butch and daughter Brenda. I remember Butch and Brenda from when they were little tots. Today they are fine young adults.

We spent another few hours visiting with Jim and Denece and the kids back at home, then said our 'goodbyes' and got back on the road for home. That road is Highway 50 at Red Hawk, but turns to Highway 80 west of Sacramento. We made it home by late afternoon, and another lovely trip goes into the history books (and this infernal journal). Thanks a lot for riding along with us, and please join us on our next trip in the near future. We'll be sure to let you know when!
