North Brother Lookout over Laurieton NSW

Through the rain shines hope.....

Could not believe that the end of the rainbow was on the...

We left beautiful Port Macquarie in brilliant sunshine and had a great run to Laurieton, where we went up to the mountaintop to the Lookout - just stunning views over the entrance to the river, the ocean and the town. Turn around, and there are just-as-stunning views over the coast and hinterland behind - quite an impressive lookout and must be very popular for picnics etc. The lawn in the foreground of the photo is the "take off" runway for hang-gliders etc - a little pointed area for them to fling themselves off and it is down over the tree tops!! Only a relatively short run down to Diamond Beach where we were to meet up with Coral and Ron - hit the rain 20 minutes prior to our arrival - and it has not stopped since!! Amazingly rough weather for this area and expected to be around into next week. Seas are massive, rainfall is in the inches, winds are destructive!! However, Ron still took us down to Forster/Tuncurry for a look around (we only got out of the car to have lunch!!)and we enjoyed our stay there. Thankfully, although wet, it is calm here in Grose Wold as the property has many, many very tall trees surrounding our van!!
