Bear Glacier

Spent 3 nights in Seward. The first evening we went to dinner with our travel friends from Florida. We ate at Ray's Waterfront on the harbour. Very good food! After dinner we walked down the dock and watched while fish caught that day were being cleaned. My hands would have been frozen in 2 minutes, yet they were cleaning coolers full of rockfish and salmon without blinking. The big ugly fish in the wheelbarrow are Ling Cod.

On our way back to camp we took a ride along a creek where the salmon were jumping to see if maybe a bear was around. We did spot a bald eagle in a tree along side of the road. It was a young one, but still very good size.

We are still a little under the weather so we took it easy while in Seward. The second day we went to the Sea Life exhibit downtown. It was enjoyable. Then had a burger at Nellie's Roadhouse.

Our final evening we took a 4 hour Resurrection Bay glacier and wildlife cruise. We saw several bald eagles, mountain goats, harbour seals and humpback whales. The whales put on a big show for us. Our guide thought they must be playing with their young to be breaching the water as much as they did. It was a fun cruise. The cruse also included a salmon and prime rib buffet.
