Everybody knows that Pennsylvania shares a common border with western New York. A couple of years ago, we adopted a 4th grade class in Corfu, NY, as pen pals and even went to visit them. (You can find that story in our entry for Corfu by clicking here
.) We have kept contact with Susan, their teacher, so took a couple of days to go visit her in Corfu. It was very short notice, but she even arranged to bring Nathan, one of the students, his mother, Peggy, and his sister, Jennifer, to spend an afternoon with us. The day ended with a huge pizza at a local restaurant with Susan. This is part of the joy of our lifestyle, we get to meet and maintain friendships with wonderful people all over the country.
