A return to the Moulin Rouge
Jun 30, 2011
|We subway into what is the ‘shopping centre’ of Paris – some of us looking for specific items. I’m looking for some walking shoes having accidentally posted mine home – stop laughing.
Kim and Toby have a bit of a wish list too.
Unfortunately most things very expensive. The Galleria Lafayette is six floors of glittering shopping – all female (just one small section for men.
I end up with green sneakers – Kim calls them Jiminy Cricket. Kim and Toby leave empty handed.
I guess the more normal shopping is in the suburbs – but where?
We split up K & T doing their own thing – they hope to take one of the city owned bicycles for a ride in Paris.
We all meet up again at home and dress for our night out on the town.
We meet up with the tour company and take a bus ride to Moulin Rouge – our guide fluent in at least four languages: English, Japanese, Italian and French.
When I tried to book was originally told that all nights were fully booked so searched the internet and found tickets for a meal and show – all good.
Great show, I am sure better than when we went five years ago. Afterwards we get the bus to drop us off at the Eiffel Tower so we can see it in lights before catching the subway home.
