We left the San Jose area heading 152 miles north to Alexander Valley area of Napa Valley. A few wrong turns - I was navigating - we ended up on Treasure Island ($8.25 toll to cross the bridge). We parked illegally to figure out where we wanted to go. Ended up going back across the bridge and getting on 580 where we wanted to be in the first place. We found our way to 101 north and we decided to take a break as we had been traveling about 3 hrs to go 50 miles. The Visitor Center was in Santa Rosa- good place to stop if you are in a car. Somehow we missed the sign, ended up heading into a 7ft parking structure - UGH - Jay drove out the one-way in that did not have a roof. Construction everywhere. Found our way back to 101 and headed to Alexander Valley RV. Got in and Jay went to hook-up and the electrical outlet is 50 amp. We need 30 amp as we do not have an adapter (on the list to get now). I went to the office to change and it was closed for lunch. So Jay found a site and we moved. Nice site - few trees, but the Russian River is close and there are 120+ wineries in the area. So after a nap we went to find the casino (5 mi away) and I navigated the wrong way. Saw many of the close wineries and then we turned around and headed the other way. Jay said we should turn at the road to Geyerville, but I talked him into going the other way. We ended up in downtown Healdsburg. There was a jazz fest going on and everyone in the area must have been there. We parked and walked around, but didn't find a place we wanted to eat, now it was about 7:30pm. Back in the car and back out to the stop sign that Jay wanted to turn down and there was the casino. No signs, but we finally found it. We received $10 each for signing up for their player card and we ate at the buffet. Back home on a full moon night exhausted from lots of crazy driving today. Guess we will see San Francisco another time. We are 70 miles north and neither want to head back south. We are here for 3 nights then head north to someplace.
