George's Round The World Trip Journal travel blog

Today I spent a half day travelling to some Aztec ruins just outside of Mexico. Doing this on your own isn't all that hard and is quite a bit cheaper than tours/hostels would sell it to you. For example, a train ride anywhere (one way) is three pesos per person. This will get you to the north bus station across town. Then, you can get bus tickets to the ruins for 36 pesos per person (each way). The entry fee is about 50 pesos. At the end of the day, you will have spent less than 130 pesos (about $11 Canadian) for a half day trip. That's way cheaper than what the hostel is charging which is about $35.

The Aztec ruins were quite remarkable and were very large. You could walk for miles and still be in the ruins. In fact, I believe it took us a couple of hours to walk through the ruins and to the top of the biggest pyramid.

I had some time today to upload pictures, so if you would like to see them, feel free to access them via the following link: images
