Sunset In Shimla

I had decided on two nights in Shimla as the train journey was so long, so we had a day to fill. The tour package that I had purchased for India included all travel, hotels & tour guides so we had the services of a car, a driver & a guide to show us the sights of Shimla.

I had assumed that it was a small hilltop village but it turned out to be a very large city spread out over several hilltops and obviously very popular with tourists of all nationalities. On our tour we saw the Viceregal Lodge, the Gaiety Theatre, the monkey mountain etc. I even had my Wonki restored by a Korean Wonki master as we walked around. I had to sit in a chair with my eyes closed while he waved his arms all round me & made shushing noises. I have to say that my Wonki is now fully restored, I think. Unfortunately when Viv later told our guide about my experience she got her ‘o’ & ‘a’ mixed up so he now thinks that I am a sexual pervert(What’s new? I hear you ask).

After the tour we had the late afternoon & evening free so I became the Shimla Rummikub champion after a 2 – 1 drubbing of “her indoors”.
