Ron & Elena's 2007-2010 Travels travel blog

(Ron Writing) This morning we attended the “Sunday Morning Sing” out on the lawn by the golf course. There were several musicians and groups playing mostly gospel music with the audience singing along on several of the numbers. This was the last event of this year’s 49ers Days and it was a great way to wrap-up the event. The weather was very beautiful again this morning.

This afternoon a couple of us went on a short hike to the “tea house”, a small shelter on a high hill behind the Furnace Creek Inn. I wanted to do this hike when almost every RV site was occupied because it overlooks the whole Furnace Creek area. But that didn’t happen and by noon when we were up there the campground was less than half full again. And then I had my camera but left the battery for it back home on the charger so I didn’t get any photos.

This afternoon we had another potluck with Steve & Nancy, John, Wally and Ed. The weather was perfect and we enjoyed one last get-together before we all part ways tomorrow morning. The food and the company was excellent. Everyone brought something delicious and we topped it off with some sticky buns that Elena took out of the oven just in time for dessert.

This has been such an enjoyable time here in Death Valley; the Christian Fellowship Rally, the Western Music and other 49ers Days events, new friends, and old friends - life is very good.
