Rick & Pete: football zombies

On the road all day, arriving in Milton WV at KOA, quickly set up and headed to Ruth Ann and Rick King's farm down the road in Hurricane. After getting lost up a few hollows, finally made it for hugs, wine, a delicious late dinner, and catching up. And, dear friends they are, waited up late to dine with us.

The next morning Pete and Rick played golf at Sleepy Hollow GC, while Ruth Ann and I toured Hurricane. That took about 3 minutes; oh, maybe 15, including a stop at the Root Cellar Herbs & Ferguson Tea Room.

And, a photo op that couldn't be passed up - of The Heck Funeral Home in Milton. What the Heck, he's dead. Bring him in!

And, oh, what a wonderful hike Ruth Ann and I had over the hills and dales of Solstice Farm. What a beautiful piece of land they have!

We walked and talked and reveled in the views and a beautiful day.

The Barn is old, standing tall, and Ruth Ann's playhouse.

A great place to mess around, chill, and be creative.

We watched various football games on the Partio throughout the afternoon and evening, joined by Rachel and Earl (daughter and fiancee), and Annette Carey and sister Yvonne.

Lots of laughs and stories!

Ruth Ann can tell a tale that has you both in stitches and tears-- and most of them are true, I'm sure! Those who know Annette appreciate her humor, but you should experience her and her sister together -- what a pair!

Good company paired with delicious food made for an unforgettably charming evening. Rick and Pete were football zombies until the end!

Thanks Ruth Ann and Rick!
