We got our Sonoma Wine Country tour information for Brian and Sherry Millington(my brother and his wife). They should run a wine country tour business because they sent us to the most fantastic wineries! Our first stop was the Francis Coppola's Rosso & Blanco Winery near Geyserville, CA. The building that housed the tasting rooms had a wonder restaurant and a museum with Francis Coppola's Oscars and Golden Globe Awards. It was just one of those places that with only about 25 people visiting that day -- we felt like we had the place to ourselves. We had not planned to eat lunch but after checking the menu we could not skip it! The prices were very reasonable--I had wonderful salmon with veggies and fennel for $13! The only downer was that they were out of olives--this is olive country--how do you run out of olives?? The museum also had a Tucker auto from one of Coppola's movies along with other set materials. From here, we drove the short distance to the Ferrari-Carano Winery with the most beautiful gardens along with a great vineyard. The photos show the beauty of the gardens, the vineyards, the shop and the wine tasting area. From there we visited the Clos du Bois Winery to conclude our fabulous tour of the Sonoma Wine Country. We could see the grapes hanging on all the vineyards--I expect they are 6-8 weeks away from picking.
