How it all works...

I have other pictures of our trip through Ill so if anyone wants to see them, let me know... However!! As they say - sometimes a mistake turns around to be an adventure instead!! Luckily P is a patient man and doesn't yell when I say..." Hey! Lets...." ^_^

We were driving through the cornfields of Illinois today and decided to look for a rest area. Our trusty (yeah, right!!) GPS told us there was one like 9 miles up the Interstate so I said let's take that one... it did look like it was a bit off the road but we had time. So off we turned onto Exit??? and the GPS said "Go 3.4 miles" ... ok.... then it said "turn onto road ?? and go 5.2 miles" Huh??? Oh well... in for a dime, in for a dollar... so off we went. The GPS said "Turn onto road?? and go 4. 1 miles" .... Quick looks of confusion... However Ki was thoroughly enjoying watching the road since we were no longer at Hwy speed... she was looking out the window from P's lap and smiling.... so we kept going.

Well... the last turn the GPS put us on took us to a marina on the river and we had to backtrack to a "Tourist Information" building at an Army Corps of Engineers dam called "Starving Rock" Dam. We parked... took the furkids for a stroll which they really enjoyed and proceeded to go into the info center to enjoy ourselves! ^_^

Just as we climbed the stairs up to the observation deck, the locks started their maneuvering and we got some great sights of something I've never seen before! Hope you enjoy! (And thanks, GPS, for the adventure!!! ha)

We're now in WI where the days are a lot longer than we're used to .... it gets dark faster in Eastern time! ha But we only have two more days of travel until we're at the cabin.

Love to you all!! God Bless!!
