McLeod Family Trip 2010 travel blog

Tuesday 4 May

Up early. Everyone doing so well although tired. Made our way south to Twyford School. Tony has lent us his GPS so it was fun and more relaxing following “Judy’s” directions. Learning to trust Judy.! Twyford school is a lovely old 200yrs school set in rural England. They were very welcoming of us all. I had some time with their new Headmaster….chatting school things and then we were shown around by Andrew Keeling the schools Yr 5 teacher and historian. Loves his stories and history. it’s the oldest Prep school in the world ….they claim. The best part was talking with the children and showing them Mitchells school sweatshirt. They were interested and enjoyed talking to our kids. Lovely grounds and sports facilities. We enjoyed meeting senior science class st

Winchester Cathedral

One of the oldest churches in England with loads of history and links to Henry VIII, so we thought this will be the church to do! Boys enjoyed trhe stories especially involving the Crusaders and Henrys soldiers.

Back home to catch up with the Riddles over a beer and wine.
