Well we had another great campout this year. The Santa Ynez Elks always put on a great jamboree.

We left on Thursday and picked up Suzy (daughter) and her family along with Tom & Suzie Miano (friends from our Santa Maria 4Wheelers days).

We arrived about noon, got checked in and after getting setup we had a drink and started relaxing with Barbara and Dave McDaniels, who were already there.

Jim and Paula Elkins showed up about 6pm and we helped them get setup and settled in.

Thursday evening was a quite time with everyone just relaxing and taking it easy.

Friday broke bright and pretty. The morning was a little cool but warmed up nicely. That evening we went over to eat BBQ chicken at the pavilion. It was good, Belinda and the rest of the ladies liked not having to cook or do dishes. We then set around and visited with friends and listened to the band. The band was good and we danced some. It was then back to the trailers to set around the fire and swap stories. For some of us it was an early night.

Saturday came in great. Just cool enough to make it nice and warming up to a very pleasant day. We all went over for breakfast and then went back to see about buying a pig for the pig races later. A great game of horseshoes was going on at camp. Don’t know who won, but did hear something about money changing hands. All went back over to the pavilion that afternoon for the races. We bought two pigs for the races. All I can say about the pigs is that they never got out of their pigpens, but it was still a lot of fun. We then went back to camp and got ready to go back for the BBQ and dancing. The band was the String Rays and they are really good. They played a lot of oldies and we all had a great time dancing and having fun.

Sunday dawned clear and warm. We went over for breakfast of pancakes. After eating and saying bye to our friends (new and old) we headed back to break down camp and head back home.

All agreed that it was a fun weekend and we are looking forward to this campout again next year.
