This guy's about to have a sore nose!

(Ron Writing) We drove to Kernville to pick up our mail but it hadn’t arrived yet so we’ll have to try again tomorrow. On the way we stopped to tour the fish hatchery. We saw two large tanks of very lively trout but that was it – not nearly as elaborate as a couple other hatcheries we’ve visited. We also stopped at the Forest Service office to get information on hiking trails. There is a hike we planned to take tomorrow but now the forecast is for rain and much cooler temperatures. In fact they say it might snow here Wednesday night!

This afternoon we BBQed a steak and vegetables – tasted wonderful.

The weather was beautiful again and the camping area is almost empty. There were quite a few tent campers here this weekend with their kayaks but they're all back to work or school - mostly a pretty young crowd.
