Beach time foe beachbaby

On the beach

Crashing wave

Perfect break!

Sandy beaches coastline

Erratic rocks

Coastline vista

On our second day at Bodega Bay we headed north this time along Highway 1 although the weather was forecast for rain later in the day. Just north of Bodega Bay we stopped and decided to have a walk on the beach despite the wind (this one allowed dogs which was pretty rare in California - a not very dog friendly state!). Our beach baby (Jenny) thought this was just great. However the surf was high and the sea was crashing onto the beach. In this part of the world it is advised that you never turn your back to the sea as a rogue wave could quickly sweep you away. As we left the beach we met a couple from British Columbia and so we stood talking for a while.

As we travelled further along the coast the coastline changed from beaches to erratic rocks. We had intended visiting the Fort Ross Historic Park but found the gates closed and the heavens decided to open and with no sign of abating so we headed back to base.
