Hello
Hello from Ilha Grande!
We are having a wonderful time = better than we ever imagined. Our fellow travels are great people; we are lucky. We just left Ilha Grande - what a paradise. We took 3 hour bus ride and seen some amazing scenery on the way - all roads are under construction in areas where they had landslides - alot of damage. After bus ride we took the ferry to the island. Our accommedations on the island were so nice - little A frame cabins. Our first day was wonderful = full day of drinking caprina's (brasil's national drink) very strong rum with raw sugar can and lime only no mix; on board a large schooner size boat; they took us to a wonderful area for snorkelling and bque and drinking in 37 degress of hot sun! It was a large day and we had a good opportunity to get to know our new friends! After a day of sailing we continued our fun at the local disco until the wee hours of the morning; next day was re-coop day. We were suppose to hike for two hours to Lopez Mendos beach (unspoiled) but we were to hungover to hike so we got the ferry instead and hiked 20 minutes to the beach = the girls laid in the sun and the guys played ball in the beach - it was wonderful. Got back to the island and had supper and watched the fire works for Saint George's day holiday and had a few beers and to bed early as we are off to Paraty another bus and ferry. Paraty is a small historic village and will be doing the Jeep and Beach tour. Stayed tuned........
