On the Road with Tom and Gloria travel blog

Owen and I started our day with a delicious breakfast at the Red Sage Cafe. After that we stopped at Canyon Vista to check in. I was assigned a spot in the overflow area until March 1st when I can move to a regular site until the end of April. We went back to the Arizonian, where we spent last night, unhooked, and moved the coach to CV. As we entered the park I had a sinking feeling in the pit of my stomach. It's hard to be here without Tom. I showed Owen all around and told him how happy Tom and I were to spend last winter here. He could understand why after my tour.

I called MaryJane and John to let them know that we had arrived. Within minutes they were at the site with big hugs and an invitation to dinner. John had made a pot of stuffed green pepper soup for us to share.

Owen and I left to go apartment hunting in Scottsdale. By 5:00 he had made a choice and signed a lease. It is a lovely one bedroom with a den . If you step out on the balcony and lean over a bit you can see the McDowell Mountains. There are 4 swimming pools, fitness centers, and hiking and biking trails in the nearby mountains. We think he will be very happy there - he already loves the Scottsdale area.

We went straight to MaryJane and John's and enjoyed a delicious dinner and even better conversation. It is going to be wonderful to spend time with these good friends. Can't wait for Jim and Diane to join us. They can't wait either since they had 2 inches of snow in Kerrville today!

Owen has a 9:15 flight to Denver tomorrow morning. He will return to Scottsdale next Wednesday and will move into his apartment on Friday. The new job starts on Monday, March 8th. The goal is to have him set up so that he can be off and running at work and be able to come home and relax in his new digs. Thank goodness this transition has worked out well for both of us.
