|We arrived to Caye Caulker on a water taxi and headed to see our friends Heather and Neno, who live on the island. There are no cars on Caye Caulker, only golf carts. It is a small welcoming island where you can relax on the beach, swim, and snorkel on the reef. The reef off of Belize is the second largest barrier reef in the world next to Australia´s.
In our first tour to go snorkeling we visited Shark and Ray Alley and two other snorkeling spots. At Shark and Ray Alley we saw about 20 stingrays surrounding our boat, and me and my dad swam with them. At the snorkeling spot we saw tons of different kinds of fish! One of my favorite fish was the Queen Angel fish.
On our next tour we went snorkeling in 3 more spots, and spotted manatees from our boat. At one of the 3 snorkeling spots called the Aquarium, I spotted 2 big baracudas. They were so fast that they were gone before I could show them to anybody. It took a long time to finally spot a manatee, but when we finally found him we watched him come up for air for quite a while. The wildlife in the ocean here was awesome!
