On the road with Ed and Judie travel blog

We're a bit 'sluggish' today. We had a nice dinner with Kathy and Jerry last night, watched the movie 'Julia and Julie' and headed home early (before midnight). We did manage to stay up and kiss at midnight, then to bed.

There is a 'bug', maybe a flu, going around here. Galen is absolutely wiped out with it, and Kathy is not feeling great. We hope we are avoiding it, but, time will tell. Maybe our Decmber flu shot will help us.

We have had a great time with the grandkids. There is a wildlife bird preserve here and Sandhill Cranes seem to love this area. We have been there serveral times, a couple times with the kids. We looked throgh the spotting scope and Trevor really enjoyed seeing ducks, geese and cranes in the ponds. Jenna seemed to enjoy it, but couldn't focus too much on the spotting scope. Trevor and Jenna both enjoyed the displays in the discovery room.

Ed and I made dinner for everyone on Wednesday evening. The game hens turned out nicely, first time in years we baked game hens. (note to self, don't experiment for a company dinner, hahaha)

Thursday Kim and Judie had a movie date (It's Complicated, good comedy) a good lunch of appetitzers and a little shoppping. It's great to spend time with your daughter! Grandpa keep the grandkids and had fun with them. It would have been better if the World of Wonders would have been open but who would have guessed they were closed on Wednesday and Thursdays. We did get a good ride around Lodi looking for it with Trevor as the navigator. We ended with a trip to the park.

New Years day was quiet, with a breakfast of sweet rolls and bloody mary's while watching the Rose Parade and Rose Bowl. Sorry Duck Fans. Oh! We also did the laundry to get ready for travel next week. We did some research on RV Parks on the coast around Santa Barbara, Palm Springs and Phoenix to get ready for the next couple of weeks. Looks like the price of Parks will go up as we join the snowbirds in the Southwest to get warmer weather.
