Pretty Damn Nice! travel blog

We enjoyed some filtered sunshine today with warmer temperatures in the 60's. I am sure that the locals here would call today a "sunny" day, but having lived in Tahoe and having spent the last year on the east coast under clear skies, today was not what I would call sunny. Rain is predicted in Northern California tomorrow but it is supposed to be clear the farther south you go, so we will try traveling south tomorrow. We want to get through the San Joaquin Valley and to the central coast before this coming weekend to avoid both the Valley fog and holiday traffic.

Today was chore day -laundry and a bit of cleaning. When I came back from the laundromat, I was greeted by one of the park kitties who stood on the picnic table and meowed at me, pleading for something to eat. It was as if he was saying the words, please, please, please. So, I put out a couple of bowls of food, which prompted all of the kitties to come running. There were about 12 all together, all about the same small size. I would guess that they were a litter that was dumped here at the park. They ate like they were starving although they do look like they do get fed occasionally. I fed them until they didn't eat any more. Merry Christmas guys. Our two well fed and well loved kitties sat on the table inside and watched the outside kitties eating.

This afternoon, we went and played with Sue and Manuel. We went to see the movie "Everything's Fine" with Robert DeNiro and Drew Barrymore. It was a little depressing but well done. DeNiro is tops as far as I am concerned. After the movie, we went out for Chinese food, which was excellent, and guess what!! Stuffed again.

We bid Sue and Manuel a "See Ya Later" since we will be leaving early tomorrow morning. We will hopefully see them again in Jalama Beach in about a month.

We are planning on being in Jalama Beach in Santa Barbara County for the next three months. While we are there, we will not have cable, internet or cell phone service, so we will basically be out of touch. I will not be doing a journal entry on a daily basis. We will go into town (Lompoc) once a week to do laundry and grocery shopping and will catch up on phone calls and internet messages and journaling.
