13 December. The start of this trip journal. 21 December. This is the very first note on this trip journal. For me it is mostly experimental, to get familiar with the functions, how to upload text and pictures and so on. However the time until now have been full of preparations. It is hard to believe how much and so many things, often very small and tiny, that I have to do, so my life can continue despite I am away from home for a while. Bank issues, Things concerning my apartment and the storing and keeping of my car. Help with paying bills, watering my flowers, looking after my apartment, while I am gone. Many thanks to my brother, who take care of most of mentioned issues. Without him, this trip hardly could be done. Many thanks. 24 December. Merry Christmas. 31 December. Happy New Year. 4 January. Today it is one week until “D-day” (Departure day). Then the Swedish winter are over, at least for me. I have almost accomplished all my preparations before my trip and adventure. Just some small details remaining. I have only two working shifts left to do, Thursday night and Friday evening. Then I have the whole week-end to pack my luggage. I feel that I have everything under control. The weather service forecasts continuing cold weather and some more snowing, that means that the temperature will be around -10° to -15° C. It feels very unreal that I, from one day to an other will pass through a temperature and climate difference of 40, or maybe 50 degrees. Incredible. 11 January. Finally! It is D-day, Departure Day. My program will be as followed: Late afternoon I will take the train to Stockholm. In Stockholm, hopefully not to cold for the moment and hopefully not much unexpected things will happened. I spend the evening there, probably I spend all the time close in the area around the railway-station. Even if I like Stockholm very much and there are many places wich I really would like to se or go to. But, with the thin sommer clothes wich I will wear, I’m not in position to go out or spend any longer time outdoors. For sure I will visit my absolutely favorite kebab-restaurant in Sweden, the Kebab House, just outside the railway station. My aim will be, to stay in the city as long as possible, maybe a visit to a local pub or so, until the last airport bus leaves. When I finally arrive to Arlanda airport at the late evening, there will be waiting and waiting and w............. . I have experience from before to spend a night on Arlanda airport, it is dark and gloomy and it will be a very long wait until the check-in counter finally opens in the morning.
