Duane & Jo's Travels in 2009 travel blog

We shoehorned our RV into a very secluded site at El Chorro...

It seems there are lots of things to be cautious of.

It was October and we were surprised to see California poppies still...

An angry sea and lots of sea birds our on the rocks...

We took a walk through a pigmy oak forest.

We like to stop in the San Luis Obispo area when we travel between the Bay Area and Orange County. We usually stay in Morro Bay but this time we decided to try El Chorro Regional Park, about 5 miles inland from Morro Bay. This turned out to be a good choice as it is warmer than the usually fog shrouded area closer to the ocean. In addition to a nice campground it also has a golf course and botanical garden. We spent our two days there relaxing and hiking on the coastal bluffs.
