Northwest 2009 travel blog

After breakfast we drove to Cornucopia using a back road the ranger had told us was pretty. There were tons of wildflowers in all the fields - yellow and white (daisys). We stopped at Meyers Beach (had to pay $1.50 parking with NP pass) and hiked through the woods to the top of the sea caves along the mainland. It was muddy in places and lots of bugs - we were glad we had the Off. We saw a snake in the path on the hike back. The sea caves were really pretty and worth the 4 mile roundtrip hike. We then drove to the other campground on the north side of the Apostle Island NP and it was nice, but no sewer - it was by the water. We stopped at a fish market in Bayfield on the way back and got fresh trout for a late lunch. I made a roast in the crock pot for dinner. We spent the afternoon around the RV - I made reservations for next week and Rick did a few maintenance things. He also met our new neighbors - Art and Robin - they are full timers and have done a lot of work on their coach so it was interesting seeing what they had done. It was too hot for a fire tonight so we watched TV instead.
