Went for our walk yesterday and then Sheena did it again early this morning (gotta get rid of all that chocolate I ate last night!!). Also went down to the campfire last night for a bit of a singsong. Whilst my hat goes off to the guides who run these it wasn’t very exciting! I tell you if I had half the talent of the MacKintosh boys I could make a fortune traveling around the caravan parks and offering my services for these camp fire do’s! Left Undara at about 9.00 am heading for Charters Towers driving along The Lynd. Oh my God – not the best of roads! It is only single lane bitumen with gravel on either side so you need to keep a keen eye out for other traffic (especially the road trains) and get off the bitumen for them. If you don’t you end up wearing a lot of gravel as it is thrown up. After 4.5 hours of this poor Ken was very tired and very glad to reach Charters. As we were driving there was a lot of dust and, what we thought was smoke. It turns out that we missed a huge windstorm and this was all the dirt it had stirred up – so glad we did not get caught up in that. We are back in the same caravan park we stayed in last time – feels like home. Went out for a $5 meal at the Waverley pub then home for a very early night.
