Huka Falls Lookout

Huka Falls from Bridge

Sunset over Lake Taupo

A cold night in Kaimanawa Forest

Cool Tunnel

Driving around the North Island Interior we stopped at the Huka Falls for some amazing views. The river goes from 100 meters wide and somewhat shallow to just 4 meters wide and deep through a rock formation. The ferocity of the water cannot be shown by the pictures. It is quite breathtaking. The geothermal pic is from a place called "Craters of the Moon." Boiling mud pits and very sulfur laden air. The scenery remains incredible everywhere. NZ is quite interesting as you can drive through several mountain passes in a short drive going from coastal scenery to mountain rainforest to grassy highlands in no time at all.
