Rotorua - Apr 18, 2005 - Rotorua, New Zealand

Made our way around from the east cape and headed to a nice beach on the north coast before heading south to Rotorua. We found a great campground there with heated tentsites. The whole area is very thermally active and our campground had 3 thermal pools just above 100 degrees F. Stayed a couple days as it was so nice and did some cooking in a thermal cooker that harnessed steam from a ground vent. The downfall is that most of the area has a sulfurous odor, but the benefits of heated outdoor sleeping and the hot pools were fantastic.
