We managed to find time for a tour of some of the wine country on the North Island and had a good day of it. The land around Napier, North Havelock and Hastings is all very good for grape growing so we headed off with a map and a few suggestions. A few more reds in this region and some fantastic olives as well. Several wineries offered olive oil tastings as well. We also found some great honey near North Havelock and chocolate along the way. That afternoon had us heading north to the most eastern point of NZ.
