|After flying to Guatemala City on Saturday evening (business class via El Salvador (business class, for whatever reason was the cheapest - and we enjoyed it, even though the flight was short and Anita felt like a big kid as her feet didn't touch the floor in the big seats!), we drove to Panajachel on Lake Atitlan. We had organised a private transfer in advance for this as it was too late at night for the public shuttles and we needed to get to Panajachel to make the Chichicastenango market the next day. The drive was meant to be about 4 hours I thought, but our driver made it in just over 2. If anyone else plans to do this - make sure you take the travel sickness pills for this drive, especially if done at this speed. There are a lot of windy roads up and down mountains between Guatemala city and Lake Atitlan!
