Today started with a drive up CA-36, a twisty, winding half mountainous, half valley road that was fun to an extent, but really creepy at times! We drove through some Redwood forests on this route but the main areas were driving down hwy 101, the redwood highway. We also drove down the Avenue of the Giants which parallels Hwy 101, so we could get up close and personal with the trees. We drove through two trees, one in Myers Flat and one in Leggett, which was fun and touristy. Driving into San Francisco, we went over the golden gate bridge, but it was really foggy so we couldn’t see the whole bridge ($6 to cross the stinking bridge!). Since we were excited to be in the city, we decided to walk around a bit. We walked up to grace cathedral in the nob hill area, which was quite a steep walk! On the way back down, we stopped in a little pizza shop and chowed down. Can’t wait to explore the city more tomorrow.
