As you know, we are in Fiji. We are staying in a resort about 10mins out of Nadi. Everyone here is very friendly and they all say 'bula' (a Fijian welcome) as you walk by. Things here are taken at a very slow pace, which is wise considering the heat. Everyone works on 'Fiji time', which means things will be done whenever they get round to it. This is no bad thing, as it makes for a very relaxed and chilled time.
We are sharing our resort with the Fiji rugby sevens world cup squad. We very nearly got our picture taken with them, but unfortunately the guy taking the photo was a wally and couldn't follow the instructions of press down and hold, we think he'd had a few.
Yesterday we went on a wee cruise to Malamala island, a small uninhabited island about an hour off the mainland. It was BEAUTIFUL. They gave us brekkie, lunch and a free bar, all for 25 quid, can you believe it? Also, we had the chance to snorkel, the water was absolutely crystal clear and the coral was largely undamaged. It was 'AMAZING', far better than Australia which was 'amazing'. This was like the pictures they show in books. In true Fiji style the rest of the time on the island was spent relaxing and eating.
We have a couple more days in the resort and then on Wednesday we are going out to stay on one of the islands for a couple of nights.
Hope everyone is well, take care
