Ron & Elena's 2007-2010 Travels travel blog

(Ron Writing) This morning we found a laundromat near the Wal*Mart and did our favorite chore. By the time we finished it was well after noon and we were getting hungry. It wouldn’t be right to leave Memphis without a good BBQ meal so we drove over to Corky’s for an early dinner.

Corky’s is generally rated as one of the two or three best BBQ restaurants in Memphis. This was the third time we’ve been in Memphis and the third time we eaten at Corky’s. Today we decided we like it even better than the Texas style BBQ we had a few days ago in Llano, TX. Both are so good it’s hard to decide – in fact we may need to try them both a couple more times before we make a final decision!

We had their baby back rib dinner for two with half the ribs wet and half dry. We like them both but I think I like dry a little better and Elena prefers hers wet. The wet ones actually have very little sauce on them and it’s not real sweet.

We forgot to bring the camera into the restaurant so you’ll have to take a look at their website if you want to get a better idea of what Corky’s is like. The prices are very reasonable for such fantastic food.

After dinner we headed north on I-40 to TN-14 north and then TN-385 west to US-51 north. We drove a few miles north on US-51 to Millington, TN where we are spending the night at the Wal*Mart parking lot.
