Hoi An has a very charming old quarter where motor bikes or vehicles aren't allowed to drive in there on weekends and holidays. The food here is cheap and terrific. A great place to base yourself for Central Vietnam. Best known for their 500 + tailor and shoes shops where they can attempt to make ya just about anything you want. Since I lost over 30 lbs I had a nice suit tailored for me along with a pair of dress shoes and a few other pieces of clothing. Shipping it back home was ridiculously expensive, so I boiught a cheap suitcase to carry it on the plane instead. Also while here Jamie and I took a 1 hour boat ride and got to see the river's perspective, along with a few fishermen that were out with their nets.
