After two fantastic days at EcoParks it was time to continue on our journey. We travelled about 170 miles today along some fairly good 2 and 4 lane roads. Even with that being said it took us 6 hours to reach our destination. It seems just when you start to get going you hit a village full of those dreaded topes. Ken has decided that topes would be the perfect solution to all of the speeding complaints that the LPD traffic unit receives!
We will be spending the next three nights in the town of Chetumal - population about 125,000 according to my guidebook. This is a border town and we are camped less than 6 miles from Belize. Our time here is 'on our own' but Butch and Cathy already have a couple of carpooling adventures planned for us. Our best days so far have been on these 'Butch and Cathy' days so stay tuned as our amazing adventure continues!
