Lobster anyone?

A very rainy dreary day in the Ocean State today. We decided it was a good day to go to Champlin's for chowder, lobster, clam cakes or whatever . This restaurant is in Galilee - it is from here that you get the ferry to Block Island. There are also lots of fishing boats , fish stores, and seafood restaurants.

Last year when we visited RI ,our nephew Larry took us to Champlin's for Rhode Island chowder. You've heard of Manhattan chowder (red) and New England chowder (white) but Rhode Island chowder? The broth is clear in RI chowder. Lots of clams, potatoes, and onion and good seasonings. Tom loves it!

The water was pretty rough today . The waves as they were breaking on the beach - were about 4-5 feet high . After they broke the water came way up to the fence by the dunes. It might clear up tomorrow. Hope so.

We started to organize our stuff today since we leave on Saturday early morning. Tomorrow I will clean the apartment while Tom tries one last time to catch fish at the Breachway - weather permitting! This is such a terrific place -even in November.
