On the Road with Tom and Gloria travel blog

Yesterday we arrived in Quartzsite AZ. Can't call it a town - it is simply a bunch of RV parking lots , a couple of general stores, dollar store, gas stations etc. I guess in the winter months the place jumps with rock collectors but let me tell you, other than that, this place is a waste of time. Couldn't leave early enough this morning.

The drive to Quartzsite from Lake Havasu was very interesting. A real change in topography- it was green, mountainous, and treed especially in the area of Parker.

We left Quartzsite at 6:45 this morning and had a rather uneventful ride through desert landscape all the way to Mesa . So far it appears to be a nice town . We will be here for 6 days arranging for storage for the coach for 3 months. Also have to arrange for January through March campsite.

After we returned from lunch and Costco the sky darkened , the wind kicked up, and we had a rain storm. It really felt good after having blazing sun and 104 degree temps for the past 4-5 days. It cooled down to 88 degrees after the storm. Can't turn the air off but at least it isn't blistering heat when you go outside. Looking forward to a midwest autumn in a couple of weeks!
