Team at Red Rocks sans stinky seals!

Tea and coffee (or course) after tramping in Katioke Regional Park with...

We moved on to our new homes on Sunday and we have not had good Internet access to update the BLOG and add more pictures. On Saturday we went tramping (hiking) in Red Rocks park by the sea and saw tons of stinky seals up close. (It was actually sunny, which was a first for us in Wellington). Beautiful scenery! Then we went tramping in Kaiori wildlife sanctuary. Saturday night we went to a large chorale and orchestra performance in Wellington with the team and host families.

The Lower Hutt folks took us to a The New Dowse museum and then we went tramping again in Kaitoke Regional Park. As a Lord of the Rings fan, Sharon was perhaps more excited then the rest of the team. Kaitoke is the home of Rivendell, which is in the movie. With the exception of Hobbiton somewhere north of here, however, all movie sets were removed after production so there is not a lot to see but it is obvious why the scenes were filmed in these locations. It is AMAZING. The Kiwis keep saying we MUST go to the south island because that is where the really spectacular scenery is found. We can't even imagine what that will be like because what we have seen so far is pretty impressive. We have another week of meetings planned and next weekend the team is "off duty" for a weekend in the wine country of Martinborough.
