Paul's Travels - 25th Nov 2004 to 14th March 2005 travel blog

Right, promise I wont mention that I had my CAMERA STOLEN!! Oops! Spent first two days feeling soooooooo pissed off, almost pulled my flights forward and came home!

Well, as I missed my flight from Auckland which meant the next departure for the Fiji bus is Monday, I now had a day to kill.

SO, went to the Robinson Crusoe Island for a couple of dives. It was the first time I saw a shark up close. I was happily glidin along looking at the reef when the instructor signalled to me to look to my left. About 5 meters away a 2 metre Grey Shark was slinking along past me! I sooo jumped like a gimp! Anyway, it was a fairly short lived experience as it turned (Towards me to start with) and then swam off in the other direction to what I was swimming. WELL wickid, and it was a nice introduction to shark viewing, glad it wasn't a biggy otherwise the water probably would have changed colour!

Saw a Lion fish too and a couple of turtles. (A Lion fish is the thing that Officer Drebbin (Leslie Nielson) accidentally stabs with a pen in Naked Gun!)

Dead chuffed to be swimmin wid da feeshes again, can't wait for the next one!
