Fr. Antonio from Casa Hogar picked us up this morning in Lima and took us out to Casa Hogar in Lurin - about an hour from central Lima. Fortunately a room opened up and we are able to stay at the orphanage. We were very impressed with how well run and maintained the place is - and all the people that work here are just wonderful. There is a group of students from Aquinas here and it´s been fun talking with them about their stay here so far.
And Alec has been no where to be seen since he saw Efer. We got to meet Efer´s Dad who got word to Efer that we had arrived. It´s been so neat to actually see Casa Hogar for ourselves and see what wonderful things our donations do. The kids also got to meet Alberto, who is the child here at Casa Hogar that Blessed Sacarament school sponsors.
And we also got put to work our first afternoon - taking panes of plastic out of windows in a small shed. Tomorrow we stain the building. We´re excited that we can do something in the short time we are here.
