I've spent the last 2 nights here at Stoney Creek Resort. It's a lovely little place - though I think they are being liberal with the word 'Resort'! The showers are cold water only and there are hundreds of frogs around - they keep hopping into my bedroom and into the shower with me!! There are 4 dorm rooms that all open out into a communal tiled area - and this is open to the elements so there are lots of bugs here - I've had to sleep under a mosquito net. There are very few guests here though so I've had a room with 2 bunks all to myself which has been really nice.
I've also met some great people here - Ailish (who is from Canada) and Susanne (who is from Germany). They both helped me celebrate my birthday yesterday and I had a great day. I had a relaxing start to the day, lazed by the pool reading a magazine. Then Ailish and I headed into Nadi to do some shopping. It was really hot and humid so we only stayed a few hours - we got very sick of being hassled by shop assistants! We then managed to find the right local bus to catch home - it only cost us 60 cents! The buses were very hot and dusty though - no doors or windows - and a lot of unsealed roads!
When we got back to the resort we met up with Susanne and sat near the pool for a while. The staff at the resort then surprised me by bringing out a birthday cake and singing happy birthday! It was a lovely chocolate cake with Frangapani flowers on the top. We each got a free glass of wine as well - so I was really spoilt!
