An unheard of free morning today, which I spent reading in the hotel garden in the sun. A very lovely little gardener ran out with a huge umbrella to protect my lily white skin, so the sunburn hasn't been topped up today.
After lunch, it was off to Ollantaytambo to catch yet another train to Aguas Calientes, the town beneath Machu Picchu. Again, barring two Americans, we had the train entirely to ourselves. It was also a scenic train, with a partial glass roof to optimize the views. So another fab train journey. We are only in Aguas Calientes for one night, and really there isn't much to occupy you except for the trip to Machu Picchu, though you won't go short of somewhere to eat or to buy some tourist tat around about your trip!
