An Awfully Big Adventure... travel blog

Hard to believe that we're already 2 weeks into this organised tour.

After our obligatory 1/2 day stop in a place, today we went to catch our train from Puno to Cusco. Due to the day that our journey had fallen on, we were booked on the Inca Class train, which was a real piece of luxury. Barring 4 Asian tourists, we had the entire carriage of the train to ourselves, with our armchairs, linen spread tables and personal waiter service. All very posh. We had menus to choose lunch, afternoon tea and a happy hour in the equally posh bar carriage. And I also have to say it left bang on 8am and arrived at exactly 6pm - then again, I guess when it's the only train on the track there isn't much excuse for lateness! Most of the day was spent chatting to Shona about anything and everything, and watching the scenery pass by from the comfort of my armchair. On arrival in Cusco it was straight on the bus to Yucay for the night, inching ever closer to Machu Picchu...
