Brisbane beach - man made and right in the centre of the...

Its not all sunshine!

Having "one for the road" with David & Katie (Japanese stylee)

So after beautiful Frasier Island we headed back inland and made our way down the coast to Noosa where we enthusiastically took part in a surf lesson. It's a bit of a sensitive subject but in a nutshell Mr P did well and Mrs P did very well! After a few days hanging around Noosa we noticed big black rain clouds approaching so we packed up our gear and headed down to Brisbane for a couple of days. From there onto Surfers Paradise for a quick afternoon on the beach - couldn't get out in the surf as it was far too full on and hairy for our liking. From Surfers we pushed on to Byron and met up with some old friends from home. We spent our last few hours in Byron in a boozer with David and Katie before getting on the 14 hour overnight bus to Sydney where we met up with Barry and Julia and ....headed to the pub! Spent the weekend in Sydney (mainly in the pub) and then on our last night in Oz we went to see Carmen at the Opera House which was sensational.

Now this entry may seem a little rushed and short on detail but that's exactly how it was. We basically ran out of time and hoofed it down from Noosa to Sydney and only really caught our breath on the plane heading over to New Zealand
