great boots

Iron Lake

It rained most of the night last night and was pretty chilly and wet in the morning. My new ugly waterproof shoe/boots came in very handy for walking Cooper (our dog) this morning (see picture). I think they will be very useful for keeping my feet dry this trip.

We left St. Ignace at 9:45 this morning. We headed west on U.S. 2 and it was very scenic with Lake Michigan on our left at first and Lake Superior on our right later. U.S. 2 is a 2 lane highway with occasional passing lanes.

We stopped in Escanaba for gas and bought some frozen pasties to heat and have for dinner – good.

Also we enjoyed listening to Sirius radio on the drive – thank you Rodney and Lesley!

The weather tuned sunny and warmer as we drove west and is now in the 60's. We drove about 8 hours today – 373 miles and stopped in Iron River, Wisconsin for the night. We are at the Top of the Morning Campground - about 2 miles off US 2. We like campgrounds with electricity, water, showers and WiFi. This campground is on Iron Lake and is very pretty here (see picture).

We are now working on planning our next stop for tomorrow night so good by for now.
