We spent the morning in the town of Christ Church. We visited a 200 year old church, walked around town and the shops before heading out. Then we were off to the highest peaks in NZ. The weather has not been cooperating much today. It has been cloudy all day. It was hard to see the mountains we were following the whole way. We stoped at Lake Tekapo which is known for its absolutely beautiful color. We were only able to see a glimps of the tourquise waters when the sun peaked through the clouds. The picture included doesn't give it justice.
We continued on and turned the corner to find a really cool looking lake. We both said at the same time "Wow, look at that". It was a huge glacial lake that was a milky emerald green. Unfortunately, our pics didn't turn out so you'll just have to imagine it, but it was really awesome!
We finally arrived in the mountains after a long drive, but they were all covered in clouds.
