Driving to the Coffee Plantation in Style

With the Beans

This morning we took a van back to Antigua. We took a different route than the way we came. It was very windy and we were in the back of the 14 passenger van. But we recovered. After arriving back in Antigua, we took a fun, humvee looking vehicle to a nearby coffee plantation. As the 7th largest coffee-producing country in the world, the quality of coffee in Guatemala is excellent because of the volcanic soil, climate, and traditional farming practices. After touring the coffee plant for a couple of hours, we ended with a nice cup of espresso. Tomorrow we will be taking a walking city tour and the plan is to hike the volcano of Pacaya in the afternoon. It will take several hours roundtrip, but we are reminding ourselves that it is less than four days!
