The Waymores - a Waylon Jennings cover band

Sue and I are having a blast listening to bands until the wee hours. Thursday night we were at The Saxon Pub on S. Lamar. The line up was Carolyn Wonderland who was sick so instead we had a three piece really really young band that was thrilled to be playing, and were good, but just very green. A little bit like a high school band, where the tenor sax played the melody along with the lead guitar and the bass guitar played a very basic beat. The lead had a nice voice, but the best was when the small audience started clapping in time with their last song of the set. The grins on their faces said it all - they loved that they had a little audience participation.

The next band George Devore was outstanding. A large band with a drummer, percussion (bongos), bass guitar, lead, back up singer, another guitar player, tenor sax and an alto sax.
