Today began another early day, as we were up by 5:30am. We packed-up our sleeping gear and field bags, ate a quick breakfast, and then said our goodbyes to our guesthouse hosts. We loaded the trucks, and drove out of the camp in the cool morning mist as most everyone was still sleeping. We took the 'high' road back for our return route, which was two hours shorter than our arrival route. This shorter route was closed on our way in due to construction on the road.
We arrived in Mae Sariang around 9:00am, and checked into the Riverhouse Resort Hotel. We all enjoyed a warm shower, turned-in our dirty clothes for laundry, ate some breakfast, and then took a nap.
Around 11:30am, we traveled across town to visit friends at the Cristos Mission Bible school. We toured the facility, and met several of the students. Then we enjoyed a fabulous Karen-style lunch prepared by the students for us. We visited with them for a few hours after lunch, and had a grand time! They sang songs to us. Hosanna performed a ballet dance, Rick presented a sermon, and they made us laugh with a comedy skit.
On our way back to the hotel, we visited the ice-cream shop for a team treat. Then it was off to our rooms to enjoy a good night's rest in a real bed again!
