Having changed the clocks back 2 hours for Sydney time it was a further 1.5 hours back for Ayers Rock. The flight was another 3:25 minutes and apart from a strange movie part cartoon and part human it was a good lunch so can't be too bad.

We arrived at Ayers rock to find it was only about 35 degrees C! Unfortunately the hotel room wasn't ready and we had to hang around hoping it would be ready before we were due to leave on our afternoon tour of Kata Tjuta national park (Olgas) at 2:45pm. We were lucky and after grabbing another lunch from the supermarket we moved in at 1:30pm

The formation of 36 domes which is an immense rock formation was amazing and we then walked into Walpa (Olgas) gorge following the natural creek. I didn't realise it rained out here but apparently it did in November and it only takes about 2 inches of rain to flood the creek.

Later in the day we drove round Ayers rock to the sunset viewing dunes and after canapes and a fruit juice we experienced one of the best sunsets the guides have known in a long time. The colours were amazing as the sun went down. Just magical!
